This book is packed with fascinating information on the Lotus Elise. With input from the guys who designed the cars it gives insight into the design inspirations and evolution.

It compares the Elise to other cars in it’s class pointing out where the Elise both wins and loses points (but wins overall obviously!)

The book also includes some info on Elise motorsport, modifications and an excellent buyers guide written in conjunction with the guys at Bell and Colvill.

This is a great book which has to be praised for not only well documenting everything that is good about the Elise, but also points out some of the not-so-good bits too.

I bought this book about a year ago and was impressed with the amount of info it contains about the S2 – I now look forward to a new revision containing the new Toyota-engined additions to the family and the new Exige!

Very good book, has all the information on all variants of the elise, lots of great pictures too. Have no problems recommending this book.

This is a gorgeous book; as much effort has gone into making this book appealing to the eye as it has into making the content interesting and informative. It is the same size as Crowood’s ‘The Lotus Book’. Jeremy Walton and Crowood have really tried to produce the ultimate Elise book and it is impossible not to recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Elise or just beautifully made motoring books in general. There is a wealth of information, and the occasional snippet that the reader may not have come across before – not easy to find when so much has already been written about the Elise. My one criticism is that I would have liked to have seen more photographs of the cars and, particularly, their interiors. The book already has many photos, but I would happily have forsaken the many pictures of the covers of well known motoring magazines for a glimpse at the interior of a 111s and comparison with the standard 111 for example.

A beautiful book, so nearly perfect.

I purchased this book as a gift for my boyfriend, who is a new Lotus Elise owner, but could not resist reading it myself first. The book gives comprehensive information on the Elise, complimented by great photographs, which can be enjoyed by both enthusiast and novice alike. Now, I am able to hold an informed discussion instead of asking such questions as “Where’s the spare wheel?” Due to this impressive new knowledge I’ve even been permitted to drive the car myself. The question now is who gets to keep the book for their coffee table!

Ordered the car, bought the book.

Nice, easy to read, wealth of inside detail, great pics. Staggering that it even includes early artwork design sketches which look like the NEW Elise-II (aka Elise 2000).

Surely, time for an updated NEW Edition, John, get your skates on mate.. include the Exige, and the new shape.

Very well worth the money, buy it if you intend to buy the car or just love it anyway.

The book is comprehensive in itself. It covers the concept and the story of this interesting car. I especially appreciated about the visit to the factory because a owner or not a owner may not have the chance to visit the factory production line of their beloved car. If you are interested in this lovely car Lotus Elise you should not miss the chance to read this book. I want to own the Elise and have some research on this car, this book has already done a good job. The only drawbacks I can mention are two things. 1) This car should deserve more colour photos although it has some already. This car can be in any colours. 2) There should be some technical drawings to be included to make as a “complete story”.

Anyway, this book is good and worth to own.

Starts well with good chapters on history, the factory tour, chassis, bodywork and engine. Not so good on testing, as it is mainly a repeat of the video, which covers it better. His test drive is a bit of a filler. Generally good though.

Having just purchased an Elise, this book gave me an insight into the engineering and technology behind this fantastic car. Colour photos compliment the content. The only drawback is the lack of technical diagrams. Overall, a good book

The quality of the printing in this book is poor. There are no colour pictures and some of the captions are so faded they are barely readable. The book is made up of lots of magazine articles, many of which I had seen already. For those who have not read many articles on the S1 Elise it might be quite a good book, but it would have been much better if it had been printed in colour.

This is a really great book packed with info and brilliant colour photos telling you everything you want to know about the fantastic Lotus Elise. Highly recommended at such a reasonable price.

This is not my first Elise book. And compared with the one I had before, I must say I was positivly surprised by the quality of this “Lotus Elise – Enthusiastic Guide Series”. Being myself an Elise enthusiast, I found this book to be very complete with not so common information like aftermarket modifications and tips to anyone interested in buying one second hand. It is writen in an informal and involving style. I fully recommend this one!

A truly great book, with many comments from the designers. If you own the car, this book is a must have. There are some great pics showing the first scale models of the design and a good explanation of what the car does on the limits of adhesion. You will find yourself caught between wanting to read the book or putting it down to gp and drive the car.
