Aluminium corrosion on the floors of the S1 is a known problem and the fixes are pretty simple. Under the rubber mats, if damp, a nasty chemical soup can build up leading to crevice corrosion.
It is less well known that the front seat mounts of the S1 are also prone to corrosion and they do so very close to the actual seat frame to chassis mount point.
Once cleaned up you can see a good 10% of the material thickness on the side effected as gone - a clear safety failure.
