Its all very new but the guys @ SECANT are now offering a 2.0lt ecotec fedralised lotus elise conversion with an eaton m62 (roots type) supercharger conversion for $20,000 which on current exchange rates is about £4.50.
Currently only a test mule seems to exist, but the basic spec is;
- 2.0lt GM (Ford) Ecotec
- Ford Ecotec standard ECU
- GetRag F35 five speed box
- Quaife slipper
- FD 4.05
- 165mph in 5th (does not look like it can red line)
- Some sort of sump baffling
- Exige S finished weight 949kg (not known if that is wet or dry)
- OBDII compliant
- Eaton M62 charger
- Inter after after cooled (air to water then water to air)
- 1.2 BAR / 17PSI
This is same engine as used in the US variant of the Atom. It is a turn key product and it appears that they keep the old lotus / yoda drivetrain.
