It seems that Simon Erland is falling out of favour with another forum as evidenced by this post on the Lotus on Track RDC forum - posted by the head honcho at LOTRDC:
If you don't like your accusations/abuse of drivers who have significant respect within lotrdc let alone the lotus community being moderated on here.. FCUK OFF and post them elsewhere.
you've never had anything to do with the series, other than blab on about lots of drivers and engines that were going to win it at the start but vanished so go back where you came from in cloud cuckoo land. i've given you the benefit of the doubt over the last few of years, even though you get treated like a cock on every other forum. now stop being a cock or this will be another forum you can't post on.
What could have produced such an outburst?
It would appear that the cause of this was some intemperate remarks made by Simon Erland about the failure of Sean Bicknells KingK sourced engine from last year - detailed here.
The remarks were then deleted but thanks to the magic of the internet they still persist:
Well that's pretty far from a stock end, in fact Sean Bicknell's 2007 Lot engine was more stock than that - forged pistons, Arrow rods, steel flywheel, rest OE and despite the Bicknell/Treasure combination buzzing it to the point [Arrow assessed all 4 rods and wrote off two, and cleared 2for reuse estimating an 18,000rpm buzz] where two rods stretched and twisted enough for the pistons to close the deck clearance, hit the head, bend the valves, break the inlet vernier [ I use specially made Kevlar belts] and crack two spokes on the exhaust vernier, - that engine nonetheless was in the process of being rebuilt before last year became so unhappy..
Simon Erland also made many disparaging remarks about Seans ability to install, maintain and even follow the simplest instructions with regard to his engines resulting in all of the DNFs and failures to start and ultimately the collapse of the engine was due to simple driver idiocy in buzzing it to 18,000 rpm.
These claims are of course all the more serious as Sean now opperates J S Racing and such claims can hardly inspire confidence.
