Current plan, apparently, is to produce cars with an "interim" transmission solution as the current one fails. Sadly the interim one is going to provide no performance at all, but its OK as customers can have a free upgrade when its available in a working format.
You would have to me mad to accept such a vehicle. Th car is now 12 months late but they propose asking Lotus to start churning them out of Hethel with a bodged up transmission with a promise to upgrade you later.
Tesla have lost their way, it's all over folks, expect to see a fire sale of the technology (if any of it really works). Shame as I love the notion.
